After we bought the book 秦嶺眉山蝴蝶圖記 written by 許家珠老師 et al., we are fascinated by the content. We tried to contact him and get a prompt reply. He said the best season is June to August, so we booked our air tickets and let him decided the rest for us. He is the best host we ever met. He gave us a very good arrangement. Though the weather was disappointing, we still managed to get a lot of photos. Many thanks to許家珠老師 and we are sure we will go again in the future.

Day 1 (30th June)

We departed from 深圳 and arrived 西安 in the afternoon. We took a bus and went to 漢中 where 許家珠老師 was already waiting for us for half an hour. We felt very embarrassed and hurried to the small van 老師 had booked for us in advance. After we settled in the hotel, we hurried to a near-by restaurant to have dinner. Most of the restaurant closes early in that area, folks over there tends to eat early and that cut short most of our fieldtrip time; a fact that we should remember if we go there in the future.

Day 2 (1stJuly)

We had breakfast in our hotel and started off early. The weather was not good. We went to 米倉山. We had to pay entrance fee. We crossed 秦關 and actually went into 四川 leaving 陝西 behind, entering 光霧山. We stopped by a few spots and took some photos. We attempted to go to the peak, but the weather was really bad and had to settle to go along a wooden pathway half way up the mountain. It was actually quite high already, around 1800 meter. When we arrived a platform, the sun suddenly came out and butterflies emerged from nowhere. That means if the weather is good, there will be a lot of butterflies. We got a few nice Lycaenidae and Satyridae. We check-in our hotel later and had lunch. The weather was much better in the afternoon and we walked around our hotel. We crossed the river to the other side until we reached another road. It was a botanical garden. There should be more, but time was getting late and we had to go back.

There were a few others that looked quite similar and a few the same as those we have in Hong Kong. There photos will not be posted. Some species can be seen in other localities too, to make it easier to look at, they will be group into upper and underside in one frame.
