Report of trip to 秦嶺 on July 2011

Day 5 (4thJuly)

We tried to go up to the highest point. The weather was too bad to continue. After a short stay, we went to the Panda Reserve. We were not allowed to go inside. The new rule is that we have to apply in advance. We went to a footpath again and saw a lot of species. We were reluctant to leave early because we had a dinner appointment back in 漢中. We were treated as guest by the local scientific members and had a typical local delicacy dinner.

Day 6 (5thJuly)

It was raining like cats and dogs since last night. Our original destination was 留垻We had no choice but to go to 朱睘鳥自然保護區, it is an endanger species and protected by law. There was no hope of the weather turning better and we went to 觀音廟 in the afternoon. According to 老師, this is a good place for butterfly if it is not raining. We still managed to get a few, but all our equipments were soaked.

Day 7 (6thJuly)

We returned as scheduled with the best result of all the 2011 fieldtrips so far.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank 許家珠老師及所有單位之領導 for their hospitality and their excellent arrangement. We are certain we will go again in the future.
